On Placeholder Reasoning

This is a placeholder essay. Its job is to prove that the essay template renders long-form text well: that the measure is comfortable, the line height is right, and the spacing between paragraphs reads as intended rather than as an accident.
A second paragraph follows, because a single one tells you nothing about rhythm. The eye needs to travel from the end of one block to the start of the next to judge whether the spacing is doing its work.
A heading, to check the scale
Headings need testing against body text. A heading that is too large shouts; one that is too small disappears. This one sits between the two, and the space above it is deliberately larger than the space below, so it binds to the text it introduces rather than floating between sections.
